OBSTETRIC DELIVERY
While a healthy pregnancy is essential, the delivery of your baby can be a positive start to motherhood. Obstetric delivery refers to labour/childbirth and the method used to deliver the baby. During your antenatal assessments with Dr Jagiellowicz, you will be prepared for delivery. From the breaking of your water and contractions to dilation, and when you need to head for the hospital, the obstetrician will give you all the information you need and answer any questions you may have.
YOUR CHOICE
Dr Jakub Jagiellowicz will offer you guidance and assistance in choosing the birth plan best suited for you. He will also explain each part of the obstetric delivery and what you can expect from each birthing option, as well as talk about pain relief so that you are well informed before deciding.
YOUR OPTIONS
The obstetrician will provide you with all the information needed to feel confident in your choice of a birth plan, be it natural vaginal delivery or C-section. A C-section is generally planned ahead of time if you develop complications during pregnancy, and there may be cases where a caesarean section is necessary for the health of the mother and baby. For mothers who have given birth through a c-section before, “Vaginal Birth After Caesarean” may be an option, and the obstetrician will be able to evaluate whether or not this is best suited for you. In necessary cases, the obstetrician may induce labour. Either way, Dr Jagiellowicz will make you as comfortable as possible to welcome your little one into the world.
After delivery, the obstetrician will conduct a few basic tests to ensure everything is normal and ensure your health. Thereafter you will meet your little one and hold him or her for the first time. Skin to skin is encouraged from birth to bond with your little one.
